BINYAMIN (BENNY) ELON
Member of Knesset Binyamin Elon, is serving his second term as Tourism Minister of the State of Israel and is also the chairman of the Moledet Party.
Born in 1954, Benny Elon is a ninth-generation Jerusalemite, residing in the community of Beit El for the last twenty years. He has Rabbinic ordination and is married to popular newspaper columnist and author Emunah. They are the
proud parents of six and grandparents of four.
Minister Elon has been active in public affairs for over a decade. Most prominently, he has been working to preserve the unity of Jerusalem as Israel's undivided and eternal capital and the integrity of Judea and Samaria, Israel's
heartland. He is well known, not only for his political acumen, but for his ability to translate his sound, ideological philosophies into facts on the ground. Jerusalem continues to be strengthened by his efforts to reclaim Jewish
neighborhoods in all parts of the city, rendering any division of Israel's capital untenable.
He has strived to unite the right-wing parties under one larger faction - the National Union, which today comprises 7 Members of Knesset.

Another focal point of his activities is to strengthen Israel's political standing in the western world and specifically in the United States. He has developed excellent relations
with the Christian community, politicians and prominent public figures, in addition to traditional Jewish support.
He has served in the 14th and 15th Knessets and was awarded the "Distinguished Service" citation by his political peers. His parliamentary duties have included membership of the Foreign Affairs and
Defense Committee, Law and Justice, and the Committee for the Appointment of Judges.
